Jason Isbell
Isbell (b. 1979. Greenhill AL) is an Americana, folk, country and southern rock singer-songwriter.
He has won multiple awards including Grammys for best American roots song and best Americana album.
He is an activist, frequently speaking out in support of LGBTQ+ people, reproductive rights, and sensible gun control. He publicly promised to create a charity album honoring Georgia musicians if Georgia voted for Biden in 2000—a promise he followed through on. He was a featured performer on the opening night of the 2024 Democratic convention, performing his song "Something More than Free" (which had debuted as #1 song on the American, folk, & rock Billboard charts.
